before we head to alaska…
So that brought me to my next adventure: traveling almost the entire Baja peninsula with a long time childhood friend. It was so surreal I still can’t believe I did it. I did my first deep sea fishing trip. Pretty cool. Saw my first BLUE whale. The biggest mammal/animal on earth. INCREDIBLE! Saw a Fin whale. Then on to our camping on the Baja peninsula to pet gray whales in the ocean. That’s right, I petted them. Again, INCREDIBLE, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
Is this fate? Part 2
We pull out and one of the other passengers asks Jayleen if we will see any killer whales. Jayleen replies we have a 20% chance of seeing them. The last time we saw them was two weeks ago…..10 minutes out on our tour we found a pod of them with a baby swimming alongside our boat. Sign number one. But read on it gets even better.
Is this fate?
Have you ever gone somewhere and felt like “This is it. This is where I’m meant to be.”? That happened to me last month. I always said I would retire in the Caribbean, but I have a new love and that's Alaska. It is absolutely amazing. We will still retire to the Caribbean too. But Alaska is also now on the horizon.
Getting Healthy Again
I've been lying awake for hours. It's now 4:35 am and my heartburn has been racing through my body all night. Of course it’s self-inflicted. From a fried pizza pocket with lots of pepperoni to a cold brewed coffee that literally made me feel drunk to a homemade trail mix that I know has way too many calories in it.
What happened to june?
Holy cow. When I said May flies by I think June slid down a mountain. In a good way. I have been trying to get to this blog for over a month now. As I lay here at 4:30 am writing this I feel so fortunate to have this beautiful life Michael and I have made for ourselves. Listening to the birds chirp, Milly's wind chimes chiming in the wind to let me know she is ok in doggy heaven (she will be gone 2 years on June 25th, how I miss her so😥, story to follow in another blog), and the chickens waking up in the coop with a very loud cock-a-doodle-doo. My heart is full of warmth for all who have helped throughout the years and how nature has blessed us so.
Hello and Happy Spring!
Since our last blog we have been waiting patiently for things to sprout, chickens to hatch and more bees to arrive. The dogs have been clipped with their summer haircuts and the sap from the maple trees has been waiting to be cooked into delicious maple syrup.
