Is this fate?

Have you ever gone somewhere and felt like “This is it. This is where I’m meant to be.”?

That happened to me last month. I always said I would retire in the Caribbean, but I have a new love and that's Alaska. It is absolutely amazing. We will still retire to the Caribbean too. But Alaska is also now on the horizon.

Last month we took a cruise to Alaska on the first Carnival ship to sail in 22 months. FYI, we did not get Covid and everyone was healthy on our ship. It was a spur of the moment decision and it was unforgettable. The trip of a lifetime. As I lay here writing this I get emotional just thinking about it and tears are flowing down my face.

We had three stops - Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan.

We took the inside passage and also cruised the Tracy Arm fjord. It should be a law in the United States that everyone has to visit Alaska at least once in their lives. I can't believe it’s part of the US. No wonder Russia doesn't like us. They literally gave it to us for two cents per acre. Crazy!

We were absolutely blown away.

Why does a dream have to be a dream? Why can't it always become reality if you really want it.

Well I want it. So call it a dream, a goal, or reality. It is going to happen.

I'm going to do Alaska in parts because it is going to take up my life for the next couple of years.

Michael and I were talking one night on the cruise and I brought up the thought of buying a property in Alaska and renting it like we do in Wisconsin. Usually he just shuts me down and tells me I'm crazy, but this time he didn't. He actually just sat back and looked at me processing what I was saying.

The next morning we were going on our whale tour. I was so excited I was up at 4:00 am. As I got out of the shower I looked at myself in the mirror and said, “if something amazing happens today, it's fate.” (I'm starting to think signs are a bigger thing in life as I get older and wiser, and I don't think they should be ignored). (Sign! The ship was called Miracle). I told Michael what I did and he became upset with me because I was so excited for this tour and now I was putting that on me as well. I said, “well if it happens, it happens”. So we leave to go on the tour...

Stay tuned for next month's blog to see what happened. Words cannot describe what we saw.

P.S. Weight Watchers hasn't gone well this last month. But I did lose my cruise weight🥳.

Cheers,

Kaycee
